One of the highlights of CANON at RSNA 2020 was the new 90 cm CT system of the Aquilion series, which was first presented at the ASTRO (American Society for Radiation Oncology) meeting in October. The extra-large gantry opening improves the positioning options required by patients in radio-oncology and is also very suitable for interventional procedures. This system also uses a special "deep learning" reconstruction from CANON. The clinical approval is pending. Canon also unveiled a new cardiac spectral CT scan that allows heart images to be captured in a single heartbeat. In MR, “deep learning” algorithms can be used in almost all clinical applications. The “Compressed Sense” acceleration technique can now be used in both 3D and 2D. A new fully digital X-ray imaging system was also presented.
